Transitions - YPAC Manchester

manchester canal

In partnership with the local schools YPAC identifies young people in year 6, likely to drop out of education, and engages them in a 3 year programme of individual support and group work in school and in the community, raising their aspirations and enabling them to stay in school.

Our weekly evening session BELIEVE, every Tuesday evening linking food, nutrition and fitness, supported by sports & arts practitioners and trained chef’s. A summer programme will be offered during the school holidays to provide support and activities especially to the young people about to enter High School.

Targeted work for young people making the transition from Primary School to High School between aged 10 and 13 to improve expectations achievement and prevent withdrawal from positive relationships. Young people identified through the local primary school who are making the transition to High School will be offered a package of support over three years, in which they will be able to take part in a programme of learning called ‘Building my Future.’
